Dell PowerEdge R710 Configure to Order Server is a 2U dense chassis supporting up to 12 physical cores of compute performance. We can pack up to 6 x 3.5" hard drives and 18TB of storage in this unit. Maximum configured DDR3 10600R memory is 288GB (18 x 16GB). Power supplies and hard drives are hot-swappable. Each one of our refurbished Dell 2U rack servers is individually inspected prior to configuration. All rack servers we carry have been decommissioned and acquired from climate controlled facilities to include both colocations and data centers across the United States.
When your server order is placed, we build the server to your specifications, complete all firmware updates (to include bio's) and full integration of internal hardware components. Each server is entered into our warranty system by hardware part number, placement & type (Ram/HDD/iDRAC/PSU). Dell R710 Servers configured with 3 or more hard drives will be set by default to RAID5 and loaded with Windows Server 2016 Standard.

Absolutely excellent deal.
However, I think I read that I probably should not have gotten it with all three channels of memory populated. Evidently memory access runs slower with all memory slots filled vs just two channels.
Or I could be wrong.
But if they could give some assistance in the configurator as to memory speed tradeoffs with various combinations it would be helpful.
I was recommended SaveMyServer.com from a client of mine and I was not disappointed. The web interface is easy to navigate and play with different server builds. The server build and shipment was very fast. I called to get an update on when the servers expected to ship at about 12pm-1pm and the phone was answered by a live person that told me the server build was almost complete. I placed an order at midnight and the servers shipped the next afternoon. The servers were configured exactly as expected and have been running now full time for a week with no issues whatsoever.

When the server arrived it had a faulty battery in the RAID controller, but otherwise was perfect. I called SaveMyServer about the issue and quickly had a live person from the company answer the phone. He shipped my a replacement battery the next day. I would have taken a star off for the faulty battery, but SaveMyServer resolved the problem so quickly it's still worth 5 stars.
The servers are fast and work as described. You can't beat the price for the power you get. These are a staple of the server world so there is support for all types of platforms.
Whats even better is the savemyserver.com company. From the ordering process all the way through replacing one bad hard drive I have spoken to intelligent people who know what they are doing. My questions and issues were dealt with promptly and professionally. Unfortunately that has become a rarity nowadays.
